For the last eight years, community organisation, We Care Connect has been donating valuable items to local families less fortunate than others, with the mission to break the barrier of childhood poverty in the region.
More than 30,000 children live under the poverty line across the Central Coast and Hunter, the number growing significantly each year.

The organisation provides disadvantaged children with preloved clothing, cots, prams and car seats, supporting families facing domestic violence, financial hardship, homelessness and chronic illness, and is the charity partner for this year’s Getting Hitched Wedding Expo, with all proceeds donated to the vital cause.
We Care Connect spokesperson, Helen Barker says “this event will help to provide much needed assistance so that this year, over 7,000 children will receive the clothing, winter blankets and nursery essentials that they don’t have.”
The Lions Club of Wyoming East Gosford Centennial Inc has proudly hosted the wedding exhibition for nearly two decades, raising over $250,000 to local community on the Central Coast and growing the exhibition to be one of the largest of its kind state-wide.
Lions Club President, Melissa Jones says the change in charity comes with a change in venue, bringing a fresh feel to the exhibition.
“This year’s charity of choice will support all families on the Central Coast and we look forward to celebrating our 18th birthday at the brand new Gosford RSL.”
JC Entertainment and Events Co-Owner and Event Director, Emma Callaghan says Getting Hitched is a game changer for planning a wedding, the exhibition opening its doors to 40 vendors in 2024, working to exceed last year’s number of attendees.

“With a wide variety of exhibitors, you can plan your whole wedding in one day.”
Returning vendor, Smithers Photography is excited to be part of the event once again, the business exhibiting since 2018.
“Getting Hitched was our first ever wedding expo, so it definitely holds special meaning to us. We love the fact that it is a Central Coast expo showcasing local wedding vendors, all whilst supporting a local charity.”
This year Getting Hitched will welcome start-up business, The Different Darling. Located on the Central Coast, Milly Bakker-Meyers offers a unique style in wedding planning styling and coordination.
“Local expos allow couples to engage and converse with suppliers, without having to travel to Sydney or Newcastle. We’re excited to attend the Getting Hitched Wedding Expo this year to get to know other vendors in the area, as well as showcase our bold style to clients looking for a ‘different’ wedding.”
Getting Hitched Wedding Expo will be held at The Gallery, Gosford RSL on Sunday 16 June. Vendor applications are still open and entry tickets including VIP packages are on sale.
