'Light Up The Lake' Bringing Free Live Music To The Entrance This Weekend

The Lakes Festival will be sparking up next week with its main festival event, Light Up the Lake, at Memorial Park in The Entrance. Fun activities, roving performers and fantastic food will add to the sense of celebration in the air.It is guaranteed to be an awesome night of great music with free entry, so be sure not to miss it- featuring a stacked lineup of local and national talent such as Sitting Down, Elaskia, Le Shiv, The Rions, and Beddy Rays.

The set times for artists are as below:

BEDDY RAYS - 8:10pm

Beddy Rays have been making music together since they first met on the primary school oval back in the day, but the release of weekend anthem ‘Sobercoaster’ in 2020 really started shaking things up for these fun-loving larrikins.

After winning the 2021 Levi’s Music Prize and smashing a powerful Like A Version, these four young tradies are on their way to becoming the next big Australian export.

The Rions - 7:05pm

Sydney teens The Rions, are earning their badge as ‘ones to watch’, winning triple j’s Unearthed High 2021. They also backed it up to take out #51 in the triple j Hottest 100 with single ‘Night Light’. Citing influence from Arctic Monkeys, Dayglow, Spacey Jane, Lime Cordiale and The Beatles, they’ve carved out their own sound which seems to be connecting. They’ve racked up some three million streams worldwide across their catalogue which also includes ‘Sadie’, ‘Head Still Hurts’ and ‘Halfway Out’

Le Shiv - 6:00pm

Le Shiv is a four-piece indie/alt/rock/psych-pop band who hails from Australia and splits their time between Sydney and Los Angeles. Pencil, Jarleth, Mossy (formerly of The Ruminaters) and Chris (of All American Rejects fame) deliver searing guitars, earhooking melodies and gut-punching lyrics through songs that will either make you dance or cry, sometimes both.

Elaskia - 5:00pm

With smooth, dulcet vocals that intertwine with her piano, Elaskia elicits raw emotion, rarely heard in a young emerging artist. In 2019, Elaskia’s single ‘Calling Out My Name’ was announced in ballot one for the Grammys®.

Sitting Down - 4:05pm

Sitting Down make lush, disorienting psychedelic pop songs with just the right amount of grit. Taking notes from psych rock, jazz and pop, this band bends genres. They are an emerging band creating music on Awabakal land.

The festival is proudly presented by Central Coast Council, with JC Entertainment and Events providing entertainment and production services.
