Help! How to get started with your wedding budget.

Your wedding can be one of the most amazing days of your life but sometimes, the $$$ can add up.

Here are some ideas of how you can get started planning your wedding budget.

1. What type of wedding would you like?

There are so many options these days. Venues, Marquees, destination, Church and the list goes on.

Selecting a smaller venue, will obviously limit your guest list so look at what you can afford before you start compiling.

2. What are your non-negotiable

This is so important! Sit down together in the planning stages and communicate.

Pick 3 things that are most important to each of you and compare notes. After your top 3 have been decided, think about what’s not important? Then, put a price on each as a starting point.

3: Create a budget of your “affordable” dreams.

Oh, how boring does that sound? Well, it shouldn’t. Draining the savings before you start your life together don’t sound amazing now does it? Don’t go into debt just to impress your friends and family.

Stick to realistic budget but remember to include everything you “want” in your big day.

4: Should I talk to the fam?

Things have changed. Back in the day, it was the Brides parents that paid for the wedding. This rarely happens anymore.

Don’t expect that your parents can or will help, but if they are, it’s good to know how much they are willing to contribute whilst you are in the budgeting stage.

Happy budgeting!
